Horseback Riding Photography Rule Number One: when on horseback, always include your horse’s ears in the shot so that you have an excuse for poor focus and mediocre composition people will know you were on horseback when you took it.

On Sunday at the Park, I had a small girl approach me. Wide-eyed, she looked at my black horse and asked, “Is that a STALLION??”
